Three persons suspected to be members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Elmina in the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abraim Municipality have allegedly vandalized the studio of Benya FM during a live program.
The Programmes Manager of the station, Kweku Kaunda, disclosed, as sighted by wildLEAKx, that the thugs carried out the attack on Monday, May 16, 2022 around 9:30PM while its weekly programme “Afar Kua” was ongoing.
According to him, they were discussing issues of premix fuel for fishermen in the town when the attack happened.

He, however, indicated that they cannot state the motive for the attack adding that the suspected thugs stormed the studio and held the host hostage.
Mr. Kaunda indicated that the host was assaulted as he was kicked several times leaving him in pain and now receiving treatment at the Elmina hospital.
Further claims stated by the manage indicates some station equipment such as consoles, microphones, computers and furniture all being destroyed.
The case has since been reported to the police.
